Reflections-January 6, 2012 Sunday Gospel

My Reflection
January 6, 2013
Mt. 2:1-12
In this gospel, it is the finding of the child Jesus that marks a beginning of a search for the star that will light our path to God. In my life, I have always been in the state of searching what I my heart truly desires and that such thing always goes in vague images but then, I never stopped and continue on clearing the vagueness and see what it truly is.

Life is like that of the magi’s desire to find the Child Jesus and do homage for Him for that the Child Jesus will bring forth an unceasing light that will deliver us from all our doubts, pain, and sufferings as we follow it and leave everything behind us.

In this gospel, the light serves an instrument of defining the degree of Jesus’ importance in our life that He alone can give us the full radiance, the brightest light, the interminable glow that will help us reunite with God. And this is how important and valuable Jesus is in our life and this is how God loves us that even if in the midst of our sinful act still, God is there to forgive us, to give us the eternal security to save us from sin only if we submit ourselves to him as our Father, our Protector, our Greatest Hero.

In life, we are always facing lots of difficulties that a thought of giving up sometimes comes into our minds but we should always remember the things that God had given us, His unceasing love and all the blessing we’ve received. Sometimes, we felt guilty because of those wonderful things that He had given us for we’ve felt like we are not worthy of it but dwelling on such will not make us anything but mere ingrates. What we must do is to reciprocate God’s love for us and that is to become the best Christian we can be.
